Chorus Director Edward Zelnis has performed with Music of the Baroque for more than twenty years. He has been the ensemble's Chorus Director since 2001 and also directs Music of the Baroque's educational outreach program.

Mr. Zelnis appeared most recently as a tenor soloist with Music of the Baroque in a program of Monteverdi madrigals. Previous solo appearances with the ensemble include Purcell's Ode to St. Cecilia and Monteverdi's Il ritorno d'Ulisse in Patria. He has also appeared as soloist in David Byrne's The Forest with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and with Chicago Opera Theater, DuPage Opera Theater, Chamber Opera Chicago and the Handel Week Festival in Oak Park.

Mr. Zelnis has conducted numerous productions at the Goodman and Steppenwolf Theaters and at Evanston's Light Opera Works. He has also been a member of the Lyric Opera and Grant Park Symphony Choruses.
