Benjamin LeClair |
A featured soloist in Music of the Baroque’s Passion According to St. Matthew, bass Benjamin LeClair is a recent alum of San Francisco Opera's prestigious Merola Program, with whom he performed Superintendant Budd in Albert Herring and appeared on the San Francisco Opera house stage in a concert of arias and scenes. Upcoming highlights include his return to Opera in the Heights in Houston as Banco in Macbeth, Pistola in Falstaff, and the Four Villains in Les Contes des Hoffmann. Recently he appeared in Salome with Florentine Opera and in title roles in both Le Nozze di Figaro and Boris Godunov.
Mr. LeClair’s repertoire includes Don Giovanni, Raimondo in Lucia di Lammermoor, Basilio in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Mephistofeles in Faust, Seneca in L’Incoronazione di Poppea, Gremin in Eugene Onegin, Ferrando in Il Trovatore, Sparafucile in Rigoletto, Verdi’s Requiem, and Jesus in both of Bach’s Passions of Bach.
