Arianna Zukerman |
Soprano Arianna Zukerman’s 2007–08 season engagements include performances with the Gulbenkian Orchestra in Lisbon, Lawrence Foster conducting; her return to the National Philharmonic for Britten’s War Requiem under Stan Engebretson; Mozart’s Requiem with the Long Island Philharmonic; and performances of Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis with the Vermont Symphony Orchestra.
Her 2006–07 season engagements included her debut with the Boston Symphony Orchestra in Moses und Aron, Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro with the National Philharmonic, Messiah with the Rochester Philharmonic and Virginia Symphony, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with the Philadelphia Orchestra, a program of Mozart works with the University of California Davis, the Verdi Requiem with Pinchas Zukerman and the National Arts Centre Orchestra, Dvorak’s Stabat Mater with the Chancel Choir in Dallas, and Female Chorus in The Rape of Lucretia with Lorin Maazel in performances at the conductor’s estate. The season also included a new collaboration between Ms. Zukerman and the Miami String Quartet which took them to many prominent chamber music venues in the U.S. This past summer, Ms. Zukerman was heard in Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center with the Philadelphia Orchestra, Charles Dutoit conducting, and at Bravo! Vail Festival, Rossen Milanov conducting.
Other recent highlights include Mark Adamo’s Lysistrata with New York City Opera, Euridice in Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice with the Chattanooga Symphony and Opera, Despina in Così fan tutte with Arizona Opera, Micaëla in Carmen with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, the Governess in The Turn of the Screw with Chicago Opera Theater, Mozart's Exsultate, jubilate with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Haydn’s The Creation with the University Musical Society in Ann Arbor, and Mozart’s Requiem at the Berkshire Choral Festival. Ms. Zukerman is making her Music of the Baroque début in these performances of Haydn’s The Seasons.
