Douglas Anderson
BARITONE

Douglas Anderson has been baritone soloist for the Bach cantata series at Grace Lutheran Church in River Forest for the past 25 years.

A member of the chorus and frequent soloist with Music of the Baroque, Dr. Anderson has appeared previously as soloist with the ensemble in Handel's Alcina, Cesti's Orontea, Monteverdi's L'Orfeo, Purcell's Dido and Aeneas and most recently in Handel's Israel in Egypt, and most recently in Schubert's Mass in A-flat. He is featured on Music of the Baroque's compact disc recording of Telemann's Day of Judgment.

Dr. Anderson has been heard as soloist at the University of Texas, Austin, in John Corigliano's "Poem on his Birthday," in Vaughn-Williams' A Sea Symphony, and in the Mendelssohn oratorios St. Paul and Elijah. Other engagements have included Bach's St. John Passion with the Elgin Symphony, Park Ridge Symphony's 30th anniversary presentation of Beethoven's ninth symphony, and Mozart's Mass in C Minor with the Grant Park Music Festival.

Dr. Anderson is an associate professor of neurological surgery at Loyola University/Stritch Medical Center.
