Equally at home in opera and oratorio, baritone
Jan Jarvis has delighted audiences in the Chicago area for over thirty years. In addition to the standard baritone roles, Mr. Jarvis specializes in tenor parts that are “character” or comic in nature. He is also well-versed in baroque repertoire, particularly the works of Purcell and Monteverdi. As Music of the Baroque’s longest standing member, Mr. Jarvis has been featured on numerous MOB recordings and broadcasts. He was last heard as soloist in MOB’s March 2008 performance of Bach’s Passion According to St. Matthew.
