Emily Lodine |
Mezzo-soprano Emily Lodine is a frequent soloist with Music of the Baroque, most recently in Handel’s Israel in Egypt. She has appeared with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Philip Glass Ensemble, Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra and the Omaha, Milwaukee, Detroit, Jacksonville, Indianapolis and Phoenix symphonies. She made her Carnegie Hall debut in Handel’s Messiah under the baton of John Rutter.
Equally sought-after for operatic appearances, Ms. Lodine created the role of Verena Marsh in Stephen Paulus’ Summer for Berkshire Opera. Other opera credits include Britten’s The Rape of Lucretia with Lyric Opera Cleveland, Madama Butterfly with Anchorage Opera, The Marriage of Figaro with Opera Grand Rapids and Falstaff with Pine Mountain Music Festival. Recent engagements include Messiah with Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, Vivaldi’s Gloria with South Dakota Symphony and the Verdi Requiem with Wichita Symphony.
Ms. Lodine was graduated magna cum laude from Indiana University with a degree in music theory and was the recipient of a Pi Kappa Lambda scholarship and numerous Margaret Hillis fellowships.
