The 2008–09 season concludes with music written to entertain in grand style—Handel's dazzling Music for the Royal Fireworks and a majestic concerto for "choirs" of instruments. Two late Haydn symphonies showcase the subtle humor and classical elegance that prompted Mozart to say, "Haydn alone has the secret of both making me smile and of touching my innermost soul."
