Vince Wallace
Bass-baritone Vince Wallace has been a member of the Chicago music scene for over 15 years. A member of the Music of the Baroque Chorus, he also sings with the Lyric Opera of Chicago and Chicago Symphony Orchestra choruses. Minkowski Returns on April 11 & 12 marks his soloist debut with Music of the Baroque.
Vince Wallace's recent highlights include covering the role of Tonio in Chicago Opera Festival's production of Pagliacci and singing Judge Turpin in Sweeney Todd at the American Gothic Music Festival. After an appearance in the Metropolitan Opera Chorus this season, he looks forward to spending the summer with Cincinnati Opera and a possible tour of Porgy & Bess in Europe.
Other highlights include appearances with Chicago Opera Theater, Florentine Opera, Opera Festival of Chicago, Grant Park Music Festival, and Des Moines Metro Opera. For over a decade, Vince Wallace has sung the national anthem for the Chicago Bears, Cubs, White Sox, and Bulls, as well as other college and semi-pro sports teams in the city. He appeared in the chorus in the premiere of Terrance Blanchard's opera Fire Shut Up My Bones at the Metropolitan Opera in 2021, which won the GRAMMY for Best Opera Recording in 2023. He also received an Emmy for Lyric Opera’s production of Pagliacci in 2021.
