The Baroque era was a time of staggering innovation in the arts: instrumental music came into its own and virtuosity rose to new heights. Nicholas Kraemer leads the Music of the Baroque Orchestra in a program that captures the true spirit of the age. Highlights include a bravura suite for oboes from Telemann's Tafelmusik and a dazzling Vivaldi violin concerto depicting a storm at sea.

Preconcert lectures will take place on Sunday at 6:30 pm (Athens Room, DoubleTree Hotel) and Monday at 6 pm (Chicago Cultural Center) and will be given by Daniel Maki.
