BACH

Concerto in D Minor for 2 Violins

Eighteenth-century Italy was a vibrant source of musical inspiration. Nicholas Kraemer leads the orchestra in a colorful program showcasing the genius of the Italian Baroque—and our own principal players—including Marcello’s gorgeous Concerto for oboe and Vivaldi’s triumphant Concerto for 2 trumpets. Concertos for 2 and 3 violins by J. S. Bach show just how far—and how loudly—Italian influence resonated.

Carl Grapentine will be lecturing on the program on Sunday, November 24, 6:00 pm, in the lobby of the North Shore Center, and Monday, November 25, 6:30 pm, in the Harris Theater.
